Make sure you come to the information meetings with The International Office – check Blackboard for date/time/place.
Start planning one year before your study period or placement period abroad.
Check your possibilities, that is check the partner list for your study programme.
Choose from the partner list and make a list of 3 priorities which are relevant for your study. Ask The International Office and/or your Head of Department.
When your choice of institution has been approved, you now have to get approval from your Head of Department of the subjects you want to study. Together with the Head of Department you should prepare a Learning Agreement which must be approved and signed by Head of Department.
Please also mail or hand in a short CV (max. one A4 page in English) with photo to The International Office.
Print out the application form, accommodation form (please note that accomodation at partner institutions is arranged and handled by the receiving institution or by a local housing agency. AU-IBT has no influence on the accomodation you will be offered), and other required forms from your guest institution's webpage. Fill in and return the forms to AU-IBT's International Office together with Learning Agreement and other required documentation. AU-IBT's International Office will send your forms and documents to the guest institution.
Check with your town of residence regarding EU health insurance card. In Herning Kommune contact "Borgerservice" and bring your AU-IBT student card. Also, please check with your own insurance company regarding insurance while abroad. This is especially important for students going into placement (praktik) abroad.
Get more practical info about studying in a foregin country at www.udiverden.dk
It is the responsibility of all students (Danish citizens, other EU citizens, non-EU citizens) to check and fill in any documents required to enter the country you wish to go to.
If you are going to a country requiring visa, please contact this country’s representation (embassy or consulate) at least 6 months before going abroad.
If you decide to study at institutions outside AU-IBT's network, it is up to you to make contact and apply.
Please note that:
- You will probably have to pay tuition fees
- Depending on the country of your choice, you may have to apply for visa
- AU-IBT are not able to give you any grants
- For students who want to look for placement/internship abroad please note that:
The International Office may be able to find a very limited number of placements via AU-IBT's partners.
Please contact the International Office before you start contacting companies (Europe only) in order not to jeopardize relations with partner institutions.
