ECTS was introduced in the course of the Erasmus programme in order to establish comparability between different universities. Thereby the achievements can be compared within one university, between universities within one country or between universities of different countries. This means that ECTS guarantees full recognition of studies abroad.
ECTS credits Each course represents a certain value which depends on the student's workload. 60 credit points come up to one year of study. In general you should aim at 30 credit points for 6 months (1 semester).
