Assistant professor(s)/associate professor(s) in business administration for the Centre for Innovation and Business Development
The Centre for Innovation and Business Development at Aarhus University, Institute of Business and Technology (AU-IBT) invites applications for one or two assistant or associate professorships in business administration. The positions are tenable from 1 August 2010 or shortly hereafter. The associate professorship is a permanent appointment with research and teaching obligations. The assistant professorship is a 3-year tenure-track position with research and teaching obligations.
AU-IBT is a centre at The Faculty of Social Sciences at Aarhus University. AU-IBT’s vision is to create a dynamic and business oriented research centre which by means of application-oriented, practical and interdisciplinary research (“mode 2”), business oriented study programmes and knowledge-based business development will be instrumental in making Aarhus University a business and innovation oriented university of international format. We are advertising for a dedicated researcher who wants to contribute to establishing AU-IBT as an exciting, innovative and different knowledge centre and whose qualifications will ensure that the Centre for Innovation and Business Development is able to cover the academic development within traditional business administration fields, in particular within marketing, organisation and innovation.
Job description/field
The successful applicant will form part of a young and dynamic team at AU-IBT in Herning where we are in the process of creating a new research-based knowledge centre, namely the Centre for Innovation and Business Development. The objective of the centre is that of business promotion and development, including offering a Master’s degree programme in economics and management (cand.oecon.) within innovation and management. The centre aims to strengthen the regional development through research and dissemination of knowledge; in particular within the areas of marketing, organisation, innovation, research and development, entrepreneurship etc.
Besides the fact that applicants are expected to conduct research within the research areas of the centre, they are also expected to contribute to knowledge dissemination and sharing with companies, authorities and other interested parties as well as contribute with teaching and academic development of the new Master’s programme.

Qualification requirements
Applicants are required to hold a relevant PhD degree or equivalent within business administration. Applicants who are able to demonstrate competencies within marketing, innovation and/or organisation will be preferred. Employment as an associate professor presupposes research and teaching qualifications corresponding to those achieved after successful completion of a period of employment as an assistant professor; these qualifications, however, may also be obtained by other means.
In order to be permanently appointed as an associate professor at The Faculty of Social Sciences, the applicant is required to complete the faculty’s supervision course for associate professors and professors (www.samfundsvidenskab.au.dk/en/research/centre-for-learning-and-education). If the applicant has not completed the course before the appointment, the appointment is conditional on the course being completed as soon as possible.
