AU-IBT reaps impressive results from European survey
The survey has been carried out among students and the results strongly indicate that AU-IBT performs in accordance with its own values to great satisfaction. Two of AU-IBT’s strategic values are close interaction with the business community and close interaction with the students. The results confirm that AU-IBT stands out positively in these two areas among the rest of the 774 higher educational institutions from the survey. Furthermore, the results show which factors the students from AU-IBT attach most importance to e.g. when choosing where to study and the performance of AU-IBT.
In connection with the very first Innovation Cup competition for the most innovative work place in Denmark, AU-IBT was elected the most innovative, public corporation in Denmark, closely followed by the Patient Hotel Odense University Hospital and Kaospiloterne (the Chaos Pilots/International School of New Business Design and Social Innovation).
A total of 114 companies and institutions participated in the first Danish cup in innovation. 25 of the participants were public corporations. All participants were tested on 60 factors of importance to the innovation ability of an organisation. The public corporations were competing in a category of their own.
Innovation Cup was launched by the regional Innovation Council in cooperation with Huset Mandag Morgen (Monday Morning Think Tank), Danske Regioner (Danish Regions), Center for Ledelse (Centre for Management), Strategy Lab at Aarhus Business School, Graz University, Ingeniørforeningen i Danmark, IDA (The Danish Society of Engineers, IDA) and Dansk Industri (Confederation of Danish Industries (DI).
Kick Start Stafetten (The Kick Start Baton)
AU-IBT was presented with the Kick Start Baton with the following motivation: “Since the start of AU-IBT in 1995 (then Handels- og IngeniørHøjskolen i Herning (HIH)), the institution has been contributing with good stories, study programmes focusing on the needs of the region as well as innovative measures which are all very important factors, when the object is to make the Middle and Western part of Jutland an attractive area,” said development consultant at CVU Vita, Thorbjørn Strunk.
The merger with the University of Aarhus is an indication that, also in the future, HIH plans to play an important part in making the Middle and Western part of Jutland an attractive region.
The most satisfied business students in Denmark
In a report issued by Danmarks Evalueringsinstitut (The Danish Evaluation Institute) in March 2006, it is evident that AU-IBT's business students (HA) are the holders of the substantially highest marks for dissertation projects, and that the students' satisfaction with the lecturers' professional competences, instructional skills, the ability to combine theory and practice, the ability to include the students in the lectures and the ability to apply business oriented examples in the lectures are the highest in the country.
